Israel Week
1
#768 "Israel's Past & Future -- Fall 2000 Holy Land Tour #1"
This program was taped during the Fall tour and was the first Harvest Time tour to be guided by a Messianic Jewish tour guide. She is a third-generation Messianic Jewish believer (quite rare even in Israel) and shares with us about her own family's history, as well as that of Israel. We consider Israel's past and present with a look at the operation of Messianic Jewish community life and a visit to the Holocaust museum at Yad Vashem.
Israel Week

#769 "The Unearthed Remains of Bible Times -- Fall 2000 Holy Land Tour #2"
Today in Israel the excavation of ancient ruins in various places continues and discoveries that support the Biblical record are being made one after another. In this program, we look at some excavation work that has been hastened due to interest in the A.D. 2000 celebration. Some areas new to public viewing are ruins of the Mediterranean city of Caesarea, and the south wall of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. You'll also see some moving scenes from the tour at the end.
Ukon Week
3
#770 "Handyman: The Life of Katsuyoshi Ukon"
Katsuyoshi Ukon, who once loitered around like a gangster in Tokyo's Shinjuku Ward, is now a much-sought-after professional handyman who has been frequently profiled on television and in books and magazines. What was it that caused him to become a handyman? And, from his observation, what kind of needs do people in society have these days? We'll talk with him about how his life has changed and about a certain encounter he had with a missionary.
Samuel Week
4
#771 "An Egyptian Who Discovered God's Plan" -- Melad S. Samuel
A youthful Melad Samuel once dreamed of making money and traveling all around the world. He became successful in the flower growing business, but wasn't satisfied, so he gave up everything to follow what he felt to be God's plan for his life. In looking back on it now, he says that the result of following God's plan was an amazing journey that is also fulfilling his personal dreams. Currently, he is publication director for the Arabic Communications Center near Los Angeles. In this program, we ask him about his involvement in sharing the message of the Bible with Arab people living in the United States.

#773 "My Turning Points" -- Kazuomi Tsuchiya
On December 23, 2000, an epoch-making event in celebration of 2000 years since the birth of Christ took place in Los Angeles, California. One of the leading figures that contributed to the success of "A.D. 2000 Christmas Celebration LA," Kazuomi Tsuchiya, is our guest on this program. We visit the unified church he serves in Little Tokyo and ask Pastor Tsuchiya about turning points in his life.

#774 "Daily Life in Bible Times, Part 1 -- Fall 2000 Holy Land Tour (3)"
This program was shot on location during last year's Holy Land tour. In this episode, we visit the "Bible Gardens" -- a park featuring displays which re-create the daily life activities of Bible times. We'll see a threshing floor, a stone cutter's workplace, fig tree husbandry, a grave site, a tent dwelling, and learn about water and plant life. How did people in Bible times live? In giving some thought to this, viewers will surely find the Bible coming alive to them in fresh new ways.

#775 "Daily Life in Bible Times, Part 2 -- Fall 2000 Holy Land Tour (4)"
We continue our visit to the "Bible Gardens" in this program. This time, we take a look at a sheep fold, an olive press, crucifixion crosses, a sacrificial altar, and a pit for grape treading. Having seen with their eyes and touched with their hands, tour members went away with eyes twinkling at this very Jewish way of learning by experiencing.

#776 "From Darkness to Light" -- Takayoshi Isetani, Mitsuko Kikuchi
As the victim of an eye disease, Takayoshi Isetani became virtually blind by the time he was midway through his 40s. This led him to make the acquaintance of a home helper sent by the city social services, Ms. Mitsuko Kikuchi. Within a few months, Isetani had moved from a sense that religion was something that was not to be trusted, to becoming a regular worshipper at the church Ms. Kikuchi attended. In this program, we talk with him about what it was that happened to make such a big change in his life.

#783 "Agape: Working For Reconciliation, Part 1" -- Keiko Holmes
Keiko Holmes has spent the last few years trying to bring reconciliation between former Pacific War combatants from Japan and England.  She does this by bringing back to Japan former British P.O.W.s who had been once been forced to do hard labor here by their Japanese captors. Her work got its start when, on a trip back to her home in Kiwa-cho, Mie Prefecture, she heard about a gravesite for former British P.O.W.s that was being cared for by the people of that community. We'll watch some video of one of the visits to that site by former P.O.W.s she invited and talk with her about the project.

#784 "Agape: Working For Reconciliation, Part 2" -- Keiko Holmes
Keiko Holmes says that the thing which keeps her going in her work is actually the deep convictions she developed during a time of great sadness in her life. That event was the death of her British husband in a plane crash and the necessity of having to raise their two small children alone in a foreign country. What happened to her that enabled her to recover from despair and go on to begin her work of reconciliation through Agape?
